Why do shadows turn off in layer 0 in sketchup 17
If I have to go back through to apply materials through my entire model again, I might need to pick up another bottle of wine first. I'm just nervous about resetting the materials. I've since gone back to remove the light power settings, but I'm wondering if maybe this has been applied to the material through out my model, and that is what's affecting the light quality of my renderings? Now that I think about it, it's a material that's used through out my model (it was just a standard SketchUp color), but I thought the light power setting would only apply to the selected surface. Just before I started having problems, I was playing with the light power of a material. So far, the two I've tried haven't worked.Ĭan you tell me what "Reset Materials" under Podium Tools does exactly? If I, for example, have used a wood out of the Podium materials through out my model, and reset the materials, will that disappear or will it simply return to that material's default settings? I'm trying a couple different ones now anyways, to see if I can find a solution. That's something that I hadn't changed at all while I was working (but is good to know if I can get everything else to work again!). I hope it can be worked out - it's making me crazy, I can't figure out what I changed!
I have a deadline in two weeks and I'd love to make this work for it instead of rendering everything in Photoshop. I really appreciate your help! I was really happy with what was developing in my renderings before this happened.
#WHY DO SHADOWS TURN OFF IN LAYER 0 IN SKETCHUP 17 WINDOWS#
One of them has large windows (right now they're just cut-outs with a translucent paper plane), one of them does not. Is it worth trying them? Am I way off base? I know for sure that I didn't have it set to either of the night ones previously. I just changed it to No Sky, and in Podium Options, made sure it was set to Default Background. I had it set to one of the SketchUp styles. I was playing with the sun/sky intensity and exposure (sliding them up) as well, but have change both of those back to default too, and still nothing has changed.ĭoes this refer to Styles > Podium > White Scene/Dark Night/Night 1/Twilight/No Sky? When the problems first started, I had the Background on the Podium Physical Sky, but have since changed it back to Default and it hasn't helped. I'm running SU Podium V2 Version 2.11.130 (Paid) on SketchUp 8 Pro. So it's not just something I did within the scene, the whole model is being affected.Īny ideas on what I can do to get back to when things were running smoothly? I can't figure out what I've changed.
I went back to my first scene and re-rendered it to see if the same thing was happening to it, and it is. Just a few dark edges or shadows of walls beyond. They're almost white, you can hardly see anything in my model anymore. I've tried retracing my steps and resetting to default settings so I can get back to when it was working, but I've had no luck.īasically, it's looking like my renderings are way overblown/overexposed. Last night, I moved on to work on a different space and somewhere down the line, my renderings changed dramatically. The renderings were turning out well with light fixtures and my daylight/shadow settings. I was rendering on/off all day yesterday working on one space within my model in detail. So I'm still really new to SU Podium, and I'm finding things a bit clumsy as I try to work through learning. View Member Profile Find Member's Topics Find Member's Posts Ellysa
